Fall Market Focus

Fall Market 2017 sets the design direction for the coming year. In the coming days, we drill down on the trends that are defining interiors in 2018.

Pedal to the Metal

There comes a time when trends hit the juncture of passé or, “more please!” And in the case of bright, shiny objects, well, they still catch our eye. Metals are moving forward and finding new ways to mix.

All that glitters isn’t brass

Brass is still a favored metallic, though brushed or matte finishes bring it “forward.” In a greater use of copper and bronze, we see that metals, like colors, are experiencing a warming trend.

Function, and Form

Metals are mingling in a variety of design environments. They can be the missing link that modernizes yet “maintains” a transitional space. And they’re going beyond table bases, taking shape decoratively, and as artistic objects in otherwise functional pieces like lighting and mirrors.
